SHIKARPUR: Teenager shot dead

SHIKARPUR, Feb 27: A teenager was killed and his father wounded on Shikarpur-Hajan link road in the jurisdiction of the Lakhi Gate police on Tuesday night.

The body was found in the bushes near the road on Wednesday morning.

According to injured Abdul Hameed Pathan, eight armed men -- including Mir Hassan, Hammal, Qurban, Attaullah and Riazat, all by caste Hajano -- attacked him and his son Abdul Ghaffar, 19, when they were going to Hajano village from Shikarpur on foot.

According to Pathan, the assailants left him at the roadside after hitting him with gun butts took away his son with them. Later his body with marks of gun shots was found in the bushes.

The injured was admitted to the Shikarpur Civil Hospital and the body handed over to relatives after post-mortem.

Pathan told the police that three months ago Hamaml and his accomplices had kidnapped his college-going daughter and a case was pending in court. His son was main witness in the case and the accused had killed to eliminate witness, he added.
