RAWALPINDI, Feb 27: An anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of two men for their alleged role in the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto till March 6.

The special judge ATC-1 extended the remand of Hasnain Gul and Rafaqat after a member of the joint investigation team stated that more time was needed to complete the challan against the accused.

Both the men are cousins and were arrested in Rawalpindi last month on the information provided by Aitzaz Shah, another accused in the case, on the charge of facilitating the suicide bomber and his accomplice.

According to reports, both the accused have confessed before a judicial magistrate that they provided lodging and transport to the suicide bombers on December 27. The two along with three other accused are at present languishing in the Adiala jail.— A Reporter
