Dawn wins Prestigious award

KARACHI, Feb 28: The Daily Dawn has jointly won the inaugural Karpoor Chandra Kulish International (KCKI) Award-2007 for excellence in print journalism. The jury has declared Dawn (Karachi) and Hindustan Times (Delhi) as joint winners.

“The special report of Assistant Editor Afshan Subohi and her team in the business section of Dawn “Why does corporate Pakistan detest democracy”, and the story published by Senior Editor Nilesh Mishra and his team “The new Muslim series – from Masjid to market a journey” published in Delhi edition of Hindustan Times were declared joint winners,” said the Rajasthan Patrika in a letter received by Dawn on Thursday.

The annual international award, instituted by Rajasthan Patrika, a media institution of repute, in the hallowed memory of Karpoor Chand Kulish, is aimed at recognising credible and valued journalism.
