KARACHI, March 1: A teenaged supporter of the Pakistan People’s Party was found tortured to death on Saturday in Korangi, police and party sources said.

The body of Nadeem, also known as Bubloo, resident of Chakra Goth, was found at Farooqui Park at Korangi No 1 1/2.

It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where sources said the teenaged victim was subjected to brutal torture.

Zaman Town police registered a murder case against four suspects on the complaint of the victim’s mother, Nawab Bibi.

They said the teenager, a student of matric, was working part time at a medical store and had been missing since Friday.

The police said the victim had left his workplace around 12.10am on his motorcycle, but did not reach his home. The family had lodged his missing report, they said.

Her mother named Abdul Jamil, Ijaz, Taufeeq and Farhan as suspected killers of her son, brother of six siblings. She said the suspects had threatened him not to enter their area.

Mustafa Memon, a member of PPP’s Sindh council, told Dawn that the boy was an active party worker. “He was believed to be kidnapped late night and his captors tortured him brutally before they strangled him,” he added.

He said the residents held a brief protest over the killing of the teenager at Chakra Goth.

He said the victim was the sole bread-winner of his family, who originally hailed from Dadu, as his father was an elderly man.

No arrest has so far been made, police said.
