PESHAWAR, March 1: Former federal minister Anwar Saifullah Khan, MPA-elect from two provincial assembly constituencies of Lakki Marwat district, has joined Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

He said at a news conference here on Saturday that he had served in the second federal cabinet headed by late prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

Mr Khan had won the election as an independent candidate, while his elder brother Humayun Saifullah Khan was elected member of the National Assembly on the ticket of the PML-Q. His brother Senator Salim Saifullah Khan is also a leader of the PML-Q.

He said the ANP was the majority party in the province and the PPP was its partner.“After winning two seats in the election, I went to Islamabad and met party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. I have joined the PPP unconditionally. I will support the coalition government,” he said.
