LAHORE, March 3: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will start distributing cheques among victims of the Double Shah financial scam from Tuesday (today).

NAB Chairman Naveed Ahsan will be the chief guest at the cheques’ distribution ceremony at Chamba House.

NAB sources told APP that Rs102.789 million would be distributed among 3,600 victims. The persons who had handed-over their money directly to Syed Sibtul Hassan, alias Double Shah, were called to receive the cheques, sources added.

NAB director Brig Farooq Hameed (retired) told APP that NAB verified the claims of the said 3,600 persons through proper channel.

He said NAB was investigating some main agents of Double Shah, including Syed Tasawwar Hussain Gillani, Syed Mukhtar Hussain Gillani and Zaheer Abbas Ghumman, all belonging to Sambrial.

“In mid April, NAB will distribute cheques worth Rs336.00 million among 2,015 victims of Zaheer Abbas Ghumman while in May, it will distribute Rs297 million among 4,138 victims of Tasawwar Hussain Gillani,” Hameed informed.
