KARACHI, March 6: Mafia-infested Lyari remained in the grip of tension as rival gangsters exchanged heavy fire in the area.

The police said at least five people had been killed and over a dozen injured since Tuesday night in clashes between the gangsters of Rahman Dakait group and Ghaffar Zikri group.

They said an armoured police car was severely damaged when gangsters hit it with a rocket in Baghdadi.

However no one was injured in the attack. Also, a 55-year-old man was shot dead in Peerabad. — Staff Reporter
