KARACHI, March 7: Eight ships carrying containers, coal and to load ethanol, molasses and clinkers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where 10 vessels were berthed including Orbit to unload wheat. Others included Hyundai Advance, Montana, Creek, to unload and load containers, Vinashin Metal Zhen Hua-5 to unload steel and general cargo, Erria Maria, Jo Birk to load ethanol, POS Knight to load clinkers and Bengar Orchid to offload chemicals.

Filippa, San Jiang Kuo and Cape Negro departed on Friday, while Hyundai Advance, Sealo-1, POS Knight, Calvin P. Titus, Vinashin, Rubia, OBS Swathy and Orient Stride are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 82,951 tons comprising 55,361 tons of export cargo including 7,204 tons of cement, 27,153 tons of clinkers and 3,592 tons of rice and 27,590 tons of import tonnage was handled on Friday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Bow Line to load ethanol, Al-Kortoubi to load molasses, Oel Shreyas and Bunga Kenari with containers, Power Ranger with coal, Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10 to load clinkers and Ibn Batouta with project cargo.
