NEW DELHI, March 7: The bilateral dialogue process between India and Pakistan, stalled due to disturbances in Pakistan last year, is expected to resume next month with foreign secretary-level talks, Press Trust of India said on Friday.

PTI did not quote any source but said Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon is “likely” to travel to Islamabad to hold talks with his counterpart to wind up the fourth round of Composite Dialogue and the two sides are working out exact dates for the talks.

The foreign secretary-level talks were to be held at the end of the fourth round of the Composite Dialogue completed in October but they got postponed when Pakistan imposed emergency, leading to turmoil in the country.

PTI said the two sides will now review the progress made in the fourth round of Composite Dialogue and set the timetable for the fifth round.

Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said he was waiting for the new government to take office in Pakistan after which the talks will be scheduled to take the dialogue process forward.
