Terror suspect held

SHIKARPUR, March 11: Shikarpur police have arrested an alleged terrorist identified as Abdul Rehman Channa from Rustam road here on Monday evening where he was about to embark on a bus.

The raiding police party recovered a TT pistol and five bullets from his possession.

Police claimed that Channa was wanted in a bomb blast case which took place during the Urs celebration of sufi-saint Rakhyal Shah in Jhal Magsi, Balochistan, in which 45 persons died and many others were injured. He reportedly belongs to the banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, police claimed.

ROBBERIES: Three incidents of firing on vehicles and robberies took place on Monday night. As a result, Coach driver Dad Gul, passengers Wajid Ali, Saeed Gul and Nazeer Khan received injuries when highwaymen opened fire on a Karachi-bound coach to stop it near Karampur late on Monday night.
