HYDERABAD, March 12: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association condemned the Sindh Education Secretary Shafique Khoso for transferring Prof Ghulam Akbar Sarki of the Government College, Jacobabad due to political and personal reasons.

Prof Riaz Ehsan, Prof Liaquat Aziz and other SPLA leaders said in a statement a junior assistant professor had been posted in place of the senior professor. The SPLA leaders warned of resisting dictatorial orders if forced upon.

A meeting of the SPLA Sindh Council had been convened for March 17 at the Government Sachal Sarmast Arts and Commerce College Hyderabad to discuss problems of contract lecturers, promotions and upgradation of lecturers and professors, reappointment of retired professors and other issues.

DEMO: The followers of Sarwari Jamat and PPP activists staged a protest demonstration in Tandojam on Wednesday against the statement of PML-N leader Khwaja Asif regarding Makhdoom Amin Fahim.

Pir Raheel Shah, Altaf Hussain Unnar, Kamran Haider Memon, Siraj Baloch and others said Mr Fahim was one of the most senior and highly respected office-bearers of the PPP.

They said none from outside the party had any right to interfere in internal affairs. They demanded of Mian Nawaz Sharif to take notice of the utterances of such people in his party who were trying to create disharmony between the PPP and the PML-N.—Bureau
