NAWABSHAH: Three injured in clash

NAWABSHAH, March 16: Three people suffered serious injuries when two armed groups exchanged fire during the Urs of local saint Shah Inayat in the Hamid Ali Zardari village near Sakrand on Sunday.

Jan Mohammad, Noor Zaman and Shahnawaz were moved to the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital from where Jan Mohammad was referred to Karachi due to his serious condition.

Police ended the Mela festivities after the clash but no FIR had been lodged till the filing of this report.

Police, meanwhile, claimed to have arrested three motorcycle lifters after an exchange of fire near Aitebar Rind Mori in Daur on Sunday.

Daur SHO rushed to Mori with heavy contingent of police after receiving a tip-off some suspicious people were standing there, police sources said. They opened fire on police when they saw them coming. Police returned the fire and succeeded in arresting three men and recovering three pistols and bullets from their possession.
