Garrison ‘A’ wins team event

LAHORE, March 16: Garrison ‘A’ team with a three-day aggregate of 629 has won the team event in the Corps Commander Golf Cup here at the Lahore Garrison course on Sunday.

The ‘A’ team, comprising Maj Nisar Khan, Sallahudin, Arshad Jalwana and Brig Ashfaq-ur-Rasheed, remained the leaders on all three days of the event.

Even on the final day with a massive 15 strokes lead over their nearest rivals Garrison ‘B’, Garrison ‘A’ continued their domination to stay in control.

The Gujranwala Golf Club team, comprising Lt Col Imran Habib, Raheel Ikram, Dr Saleem Raza and Mohammad Waqas, succeeded in overcoming the challenge given to them by Garrison ‘B’ to emerge as the runner up with an aggregate of 658.

Garrison ‘B’ with an aggregate of 664 finished third.

Maj Nisar also dominated the scene in individual net and Abdul Zahoor topped in individual gross. —Sports Reporter
