DADU, March 25: Jamshoro District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar has approved 38 schemes of village electrification, water supply, road and drainage for remote areas of the district, costing Rs62.5 million.
The district nazim directed the DCO to check quality of work and review the progress of development schemes. District nazim Malik Asad Sikandar presided over a meeting of development works review committee at district council hall at Jamshoro on Monday.
DCO Ahmed Bux Narejo, EDO finance, Ahmed Khan Soomro, EDO works and services, Hidayatullah Memon, District Naib Nazim, Abdul Hameed Buledi, and EDO education, Allah Bachayo Khaskheli attended the meeting.
District nazim warned the executive engineers and executive district officers that stern action will be taken against contractors and officials if any irregularity was found in development works. The meeting reviewed the development schemes and proposals presented by EDO works and services.
The meeting approved 38 new development schemes of drainage, water supply, roads and village electrification and directed the EDO works and services to complete these schemes by June 30.
District Nazim also directed the DCO to restart drainage scheme in the vicinity of the shrine of Baba Salahuddin in Kotri. This scheme was stopped due to delay in release of funds from provincial government. He said that only Rs3 million were utilized while Rs7 million were lapsed.
He also directed to EDO works and services to prepare feasibility of water supply scheme for village Baro of Thana Bula Khan.
District Nazim also asked officials to adopt water supply schemes of Pir Badeji and Lakki Shah Saddar towns, which were non-functional since 2000. DCO said that he will check every scheme and will send report to district nazim.—Correspondent
