HYDERABAD, March 26: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad Circuit Bench on Wednesday ordered the Jamshoro DPO to produce a woman before the court on April 1 in response to a constitutional petition filed by her husband.
Petitioner Mumtaz Ali of Massu Bhurgari, Hyderabad rural taluka cited that his wife Noor Bano had been kidnapped by Hyder Bux and Abul Hassan, Ghulam Rasool and Sawan.
He approached them but could not get her. His wife somehow informed him of the danger upon which he filed a criminal miscellaneous application in a court but nothing had happened.
He said accuse Hyder Bux, Abul Hassan, Mohammad Hassan, Ghulam Rasool, Sawan and Ali Gul on the instigation of Jumoon Khan attacked the petitioner in Abdul Jabbar Keerio village and pressurised him to withdraw the application from the Sessions Court Jamshoro. He said they also forced him to divorce her.
He said he withdrew his application due to threat to his life and feared his wife might be murdered. He said accused wanted to marry his wife to Sawan, who was a respondent in the petition. They also tried to torch his house.
He said that his wife was in wrongful confinement and requested the court to direct respondent police officers including DPO Jamshoro to produce Noor Bano before the court for recording her statement and a judicial officer should be asked to recover her.
