HBL, Wapda in basketball final

LAHORE, April 21: Habib Bank and Wapda entered the final of the fourth All-Pakistan Noor Invitational basketball tournament after winning their respective semifinals at the Defence Stadium Saturday

HBL defeated Navy 86-75 after leading the first half 45-35.

The leading scorers for the bankers were Ashraf(26), Mehmood (22) Zahid (16)) and Azam (11)).

For Navy, Zaheer and Shoaib obtained 14 points each, while Nadeem and Ghulam Mustafa scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.

In the second semifinal, Wapda beat Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF Wah) 81-64. Halftime score was 36-34.

Aamir was the major scorer for the winners with 27 points. Jahangir, Shahid and Shahzad scored 16, 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Ishrat (15), Tanveer (13), Abid (10) and Rohail (10) fought well for the losers.
