MITHI, April 5: The publication of a news item in media about the ordeal of an injured langur that had reached Nagarparkar town after crossing the Indian border and had been perched on a tree since past few days, has caught the Wildlife Department attention.
The langur has black face, white body, long tail and a broken leg.
The wildlife officials arrived here on Saturday and caught him with the help of a local man from a tree inside a hospital.
Wildlife Inspector Abdul Qayoom Kaimkhani and Suleman Khan Khoso spotted the langur on a Neem tree on the premises of the taluka hospital where he had arrived after leaving the previous tree located in a house. His leg was broken.
A local man climbed up the tree and tried to catch him, but he bit on his hand and injured him. Somehow, the langur was captured. The officials were planning to take the langur to a zoo or a national park.
There were also reports that its mate, a female langur, had been seen in Rarko and Chetlasar villages of Nagarparkar.
She reportedly had tried to ‘take him back’ but failed to tempt him, hence left him and went back alone.
