Situation in Karachi normal: govt

ISLAMABAD, April 10: The law and order situation in Karachi has returned to normal, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior on Thursday.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik, it said, was in Karachi to provide assistance and support to the Sindh government on the directives of the prime minister, the press release said.

Sindh Rangers have been positioned in Karachi to assist the provincial government in dealing with any violence promptly and with iron hands.

The adviser, the press release said, had appreciated the role of police and Rangers in restoring peace in Karachi in a short period.
