KARACHI, April 12: The UN Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security, David Veness, met Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan at the Governor’s House on Saturday.

They discussed matters relating to safety and security of diplomats in the country.

The governor said that complete security had been provided to UN staff in Sindh, besides all foreign diplomats and organisations. He said linkages with UN organisations concerned would be further strengthened towards this end. He also apprised Mr Veness about the country’s role as a frontline state in the ongoing efforts against terrorism. In this regard, he said, Sindh played a significant role by busting major gangs of terrorists.—APP
