HYDERABAD, April 15: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) has introduced the semester system from academic session 2007-2008, giving it a lead over other public sector medical universities of the country.

Director Academic LUMHS Prof Azam Yousufani disclosed this during a meeting with Vice- Chancellor Prof Dr. Naushad Ahmed Shaikh at his office on Tuesday.

Under this system, he said 75 per cent attendance of students would be essential and no examination form would be accepted if the students failed to complete the required attendance.—APP
