FAISALABAD, April 15: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will build a state-of-the-art block for round-the-clock research activities.

Presiding over a meeting organised by the directorate of research here on Tuesday, UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad said novel ideas pertaining to human development were the need of the hour and scientists should focus on new approaches to research and innovation.

Teachers could contact the funding agencies for new research projects with novel ideas, he said.

The VC said teachers must be the source of inspiration for their followers in every sphere of life.

He also reviewed the progress and problems of the ongoing research plans with the respective project investigators and expressed his satisfaction over the pace of 189 research schemes under way at the university at a cost of Rs411 million.

Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan dedicated the proposed research block to the principal investigators so that they could re-sell their ideas and transform their abilities into best and result-oriented performance.

The VC urged the director (research) to extend all possible facilities to all project investigators.

He was of the view that the university administration would soon come up with some policy for dealing matters relating to delayed and high-price purchases for UAF.
