PESHAWAR, April 17: The second 160-kilometre Peshawar-to-Rawalpindi cycle race will start at 8.00am from Pearl Continental Hotel premises on Sunday.
The affiliated units of the Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) including Pakistan Army, Pakistan Railways, Wapda, Sui Southern Gas Pipeline, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, hosts NWFP and Fata besides independent teams of Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will participate.
Each team will be fielding 6 cyclists in the competition.
The contest will be preparation for this November’s International Tour de Cycle Race for which invitations have also been sent to India, Iran, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Maldives, Germany and other European countries.
With a view to activate the provincial associations and increase cycling activities, it has been decided by the PCF that each province will organise a national level event.—APP
