KARACHI, April 18: Pakistan have been drawn in Pool ‘B’ of the Beijing Olympics hockey tournament, according to a message received here from the International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Friday.

The FIH announced the groups after the completion of Men’s Olympic Qualifiers’ final.

The 12 participating nations have been divided into two pools on the basis of current world rankings.

The schedule of matches for men’s and women’s hockey tournaments of the Beijing Olympics will be released next month.

Pools (current world rankings shown in brackets):

Pool ‘A’: Germany (1), Spain (4), Korea (5) New Zealand (10), Belgium (12), China (17).

Pool ‘B’: Australia (2), Netherlands (3), Pakistan (6), Great Britain (8), South Africa (13), Canada (15).—APP
