SWABI, April 19: Students taking the ongoing Secondary School Certificate examinations have complained that power loadshedding has disturbed their preparation.

A visit to examination centres here and a chat by this correspondent with students and teachers suggested that loadshedding was affecting students’ studies.

The students said there future was linked with getting good marks in the SSC examinations because they would get admission to higher classes on the basis of these marks.

“I want to get admission to the Islamia College, Peshawar. I want to be among top 20 students in the Board of Intermediate of Secondary Education, Mardan, and become a doctor but the power loadshedding has killed my study plan,” said Mohammad Shahzad Khan. “I have always remained among the toppers in my school.” Electricity, the students said, remained suspended for hours but invigilators had to conduct the examinations in any circumstances. They said they had to attempt their papers in dark rooms and halls.
