13 ministers get portfolios

QUETTA, April 24: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani on Thursday allotted portfolios to 13 of the 38 ministers sworn in a day earlier.

According to a notification, JUI-F’s parliamentary leader Maulana Abdul Wasey will be senior minister and hold the portfolio of planning and development. He held both the portfolios in the coalition government of Jam Mohammad Yousuf.Other allocations are as follows: Maulana Abdul Bari Agha, health and public engineering; Ainullah Shams, health; Maulana Abdul Samad Akhundzada, forest and wildlife; Maulana Mohammad Sarwar, manpower; and Haji Mohammad Nawaz, Balochistan Development Authority.

The key ministry of home and tribal affairs has been given to Mir Zafarullah Zehri of the Balochistan National Party-Awami and former finance minister Syed Ehsan Shah of the same party will be the minister for industries.

Mir Asadullah Baloch has got the portfolio of agriculture.

The ministry of environment has gone to Ghulam Jan and former minister for fisheries Mir Mohammad Asghar Rind is the minister for social welfare.

ANP’s parliamentary leader Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai has been given the portfolio of revenue and Abdul Kahliq Bashardost that of local government.

It is learnt that another four ministers will be inducted into the cabinet and the chief minister has already sent a summary to Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi.

No minister has been taken from the minority group which has three members in the assembly.
