Roshan Khan Jrs Squash from May 19

KARACHI, April 25: The Rs 0.3 million Roshan Khan Juniors Open Squash Championship, a national ranking event, will be staged at the PN Roshan Khan —Jahangir Khan Squash Complex here from May 19.

The main round is to be preceded by two-day qualifiers slated for May 17 and 18.

The event is being organised by the Sindh Squash Association (SSA) in collaboration with Pakistan Navy.

Announcing the details the secretary of SSA, Tahir Jamil Khanzada, said on Friday Rs0.2 million will be disbursed to different winners in the boys category while Rs0.1 million has been set aside for girls.

The boys are to vie for honours in U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 while the girls will feature in U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 events.

According to him, accommodation will be provided to outstation players of the main round.

Last date for the submission of entries to secretary SSA is May 9.

Roshan Khan, who won the British Open crown in 1956, died on Jan 6, 2006 after a protracted illness.
