THATTA, April 25: A general body meeting of the Thatta District Bar Association, chaired by its President Rasool Bux Samoo, termed the presidential referendum undemocratic and unconstitutional.

The members of the association wore black armbands and boycotted court proceedings.

Through a unanimous resolution adopted by the members, the meeting observed that Gen Musharraf was trying to get himself elected as President through the referendum. They added that there was a specific provision in the Constitution for the election of president, for which Musharraf was not eligible.
