PESHAWAR, April 27: Senator Babar Awan has said that he will produce his proposed movie on the message of Holy Quran in five languages so that a vast majority of people can understand the objectives of the sacred book.

Speaking at a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Sunday, he said he was planning to produce the film in Urdu, English and Arabic, but some learned writers suggested him to dub it also into French and Persian for the sake of Persian speaking majority Muslim of Central Asian States. He said now he had decided to produce the film into main five languages spoken in Muslim countries.

Mr Awan, who is a PPP leader from Rawalpindi, had refused to speak on political issues and said that he would confine himself to the film-making project as it was a matter of life and death for him.

He requested people not to send him money for the movies as he would not accept any monetary contribution from them. He lauded the feelings of a primary schoolteacher who sent him Rs1,000 as contribution for the film project from Peshawar.

He asked the people to pray for the success of this project. He said he had proposed the name ‘Defence of Quran’ for the movie, but now he decided to seek the opinion of his Muslim brethren on the issue.

He asked the people to suggest an adequate name for the film and send him on his Senate address. He said Rs100,000 would be paid to the person, who would propose best name of the film. He said Dutch MP Geert Wilders had paved the way for clash of civilisations by desecrating the Holy Quran. He said it was also a duty of the Organisation of Islamic Countries, Arab League and other Muslim international bodies to force United Nations to frame laws, banning desecration of saints and holy books of all faiths.
