HYDERABAD, April 28: The Director-General of Health Services Sindh, Dr Ghulam Nabi Memon, has directed the EDOs of health of the province to adopt precautionary measures as due to the consumption of contaminated water and excessive heat, chances of spread of gastroenteritis, diarrhoea and other disease had multiplied.

According to an official handout, he said necessary medicines, ORS and drips should be kept ready in large quantity at all the health units.

The DG health has also advised the general public to adopt all precautions against heat and keep their children away from rotten fruits and vegetables. He said, all the eatables should be kept covered and only boiled water should be consumed.

He has also appealed to the district nazims and DCOs to take precautionary measures in their areas.
