GEORGETOWN (Guyana), April 30: Pakistan qualified for the Under-15 International cricket tournament semi-finals after outplaying Malaysia by eight wickets in the league competition match here.
Pakistan, who were champions in the knockout stage of the tournament, will play Bangladesh in the semi-final. The Bangladeshis reached the last four after beating Ireland by five wickets.
Meanwhile, hosts West Indies outgunned Kenya by 10 wickets in other match of the league competition and will face Malaysia in the other semi-final.Pakistan bowlers Ahsan Mirza (4-19) and Mohammad Nawaz (3-1) combined well to dismiss Malaysia for a paltry 76 off 38.4 overs.
In reply, Pakistan, through Mohammad Azan (33), Ahsan Abbasi (23) and Mohammad Qaddafi (22 not out), reached 82 for 2 off just 19.1 overs.
In the other game, the West Indies bowlers Ramon Senior (4-15), Derone Davis (2-2) and Nino Henry (2-23) helped their team bundle Kenya out for 86 in 28.3 overs.
John Campbell (43 not out) and Kraigg Brathwaite (37 not out) guided the West Indies to a resounding ten-wicket victory in 14.1 overs.
In the third match, Ireland, sent in to bat first, were bowled out for 140 with Hugo McDonald (53) top-scoring with useful assistance from Ben Wylie (39). Nazell Ahamed took 5 for 18.
Didar Hossain (61 not out) and Rakin Ahmed (48 not out) steered Bangladesh to victory off 31.5 overs as they lost five wickets.
