HYDERABAD, May 6: Sindh Minister Makhdoom Jamiluzzaman on Tuesday visited the house of Jumman Khaskheli, whose three daughters had been burnt to death by a man on Monday and offered condolence with the family.

He promised compensation to the family of deceased girls and a government job to one of their brothers. He said he would personally supervise investigation of the case.

Meanwhile, DPO Matiari Muneer Sheikh visited the scene of offence where a peon of a college of Hala not only committed self immolation but also burnt three young girls to death.

Police recovered four one and half litre bottles filled with kerosene. The DPO said that one of the deceased girls Naheed told him before death that the accused had brought four bottles filled with kerosene oil.

He doused himself and then sprinkled it on them before setting them ablaze, said the DPO. He said an FIR was being registered on behalf of the deceased’s family at Hala police station against the accused as the family was insisting for it.

The deceased girls were laid to rest in Allah Warayo Khaskheil, a few kilometres away from Hala town. The body of accused was dispatched to Shahdadpur for burial.

Peon of the Government Sarwari College Hala burnt three sisters, Naheed, Rehana and Sofia alive and then committed self immolation in one of the hostel’s rooms.

He got desperate after the girls’ father refused the hand of one of them to him despite commitment. He was a friend of the father and had divorced his wife.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
