Five Pakistanis held in Spain

Published May 8, 2008

MADRID, May 7: Spanish police say they have arrested five Pakistani men on suspicion of trafficking in fake luxury goods and forcing people to work in illegal conditions. Police say the gang was distributing about 2,500 fake items a day.

Clothing and accessories were made in Asia and imported to Spain to be ‘finished’ and have fake designer labels attached. Police say the falsified brands include names such as Burberry, Carolina Herrera and Chanel.
