HYDERABAD, May 11: The secretary of Sufan Shah union council of Mirpurkhas, Mohammad Bachal Dars, has accused the nazim of the union council of not paying him salary for 14 months and appealed to the government to transfer him to some other union council.

He said at a news conference at the press club on Saturday that the nazim was harassing him and not allowing him to perform his duty. He (nazim) kept all the record including muster roll in his possession, he said.

He claimed that the nazim received Rs200,000 a month for paying salaries while the fact was that he was the only employee working for the union council.

He said that many posts of secretaries were vacant in the union councils of Tharparkar and appealed to authorities to transfer him to some other area because he feared for his life.

He demanded a judicial inquiry into the affairs of the union council and said that his only fault was that he was supporter of Pakistan People’s Party and the belonged to Pakistan Muslim League-Q.

APPEAL: A man has accused a policeman posted at Phulelli police station of harassing him and said that if any harm came to him or his family, the police man should be held responsible.

One Aslam Pervez who lives in Tando Mir Mehmood near Old Powerhouse said at a news conference at the press club on Saturday that the policeman was patronising narcotic dealers in the area and was always roaming about in plainclothes.

He said that he had submitted many applications to the high-ups of police against the policeman but no action had been taken against him. The harassment had increased after submission of applications, he said.

He said that on Saturday morning his house was fired upon by some miscreants and he was lucky to escape unhurt as he had already shifted his family from the area.

He suspected that the policeman, Qamar Mughal, was behind the firing incident and added that if any harm came to him or his family, Mughal should be held responsible.
