NAWABSHAH, May 12: An infant reportedly died during a raid by Daulatpur police in Ambri Dahiri village on Sunday.

A police team, led by SHO Daulatpur police station, raided Ambri Dahiri village to arrest one, Ghulam Qadir Dahiri.

The police barged into the house of Ghulam Qadir and severely tortured women and children during which an infant namely Amir 6 month, son of Ghulam Qambar Dahiri, fell on the floor and died.

The women present in the house started shouting and crying after which police escaped from the scene.

Ghulam Qambar Dahiri, father of deceased child, told newsmen that his son died when police attacked his wife Ms Rasheeda and severely beat her.

He alleged that Daulatpur police were responsible for killing of his son as the action of police was illegal, inhuman and unwarranted. He demanded justice and said that if the killers were not arrested, he would approach the court.

SHO Daulatpur, Javed Jalbani told journalists that police had not raided any such village and he had no knowledge about any such incident.

However, an ASI of Daulatpur police, Qalandar Bux, told reporters that Ghulam Qadir Dahiri was wanted in may cases and the police went to his village to arrest him but he was not at home after which police returned.
