LAHORE, May 13: Punjab Finance and Planning and Development Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira says the Punjab Pension Fund will be instituted by the end of June this year.

Talking to media after presiding over a meeting of the Punjab Pension Fund subcommittee here on Tuesday, the minister said arrangements had been completed for the institution of the fund.

He said the government was also instituting the Punjab General Provident Investment Fund and a subcommittee had been constituted to finalise its recommendations. The authorities concerned had been directed to meet the deadline regarding institution of funds within the prescribed period and devise a proper strategy for the use of public resources. —Reporter
