ROME, May 18: The head of the Italian tennis federation believes that one of the reasons tournaments are hit by a high number of withdrawals is more serious anti-doping controls.
Angelo Binaghi, the president of the tennis federation, said the high number of withdrawals in Rome was the result of three concurring factors: unfortunate coincidence; poor management of the calendar and the tennis circuit in general; and better anti-doping controls.—AP
