HYDERABAD, May 19: Police have arrested two of the main accused involved in a robbery-cum-murder case of Makki Shah police station while in a separate case three car lifters were also arrested.
According to ASP Cantonment, Asif Iqbal, who is holding additional charge of SP city, Rehman Ali Bhatti and Ali Nawaz Jatoi were involved in the murder-cum-robbery case that took place on March 10 in the district council’s quarters in cantonment area.
Imran Bhatti had offered resistance to the bandits when they were looting his family members. He was fired upon and died while being shifted to a hospital. A case was lodged with the Makki Shah police on his brother’s complaint.
Rehman Ali Bhatti is actually resident of Sanghar but he was currently residing in Kotri’s Khuda ki Basti. His accomplice, Ali Nawaz Jatoi, is a resident of Larkana. He had been challaned previously as well.
A 9mm pistol, used in the offence and a TT pistol were recovered from their possession. Three of their accomplices are still at large.
They disclosed to interrogators, according to ASP Asif Iqbal, that it was a five-member gang that struck at the district council’s quarter of Alam Khan Bhatti, father of deceased Imran Bhatti.
The three trespassed into the house, one had provided information while another accomplice sat in car on road. Rehmat had fired on Imran Bhatti that proved fatal for him. Police said that family had also identified the accused.
The ASP claimed that two alleged car lifters, including Ahsan Ali Arian and Khalid Hassan Arain, both residents of Bhirya road, Naushahro Feroze, have been arrested as they were found in possession of a snatched car, one TT pistol and over one kilogram of charas.
Their third accomplice Feroze Shah is resident of Tando Tayyab.
