KARACHI, May 27: The Billiard Sports Association of Thailand (BSAT) has invited Pakistani cueists Saleh Mohammad and Mohammad Sajjad to feature in the Baht 1.8 million inaugural Sangsom 6-Red Snooker International in Bangkok from July 8 to 13.

Some 48 cueists from across the world including 10-12 professionals from the World Snooker Main Tour and Europe will come across each other in the weeklong event.

Besides, the hosts have invited players from Australia, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia; Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines; Qatar, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. They will be joined by eight to ten players from the host country.

According to format, the players will be equally drawn into eight groups. The group matches will be played on round robin of best of nine frames. Top four from each group will advance to the knock out stage.

The winner will fetch Baht 500,000 while runner-up will receive Baht 250,000. The losing semi-finalists are to get 125, 000 apiece, whereas the losing quarter-finalists will get richer by Baht 75,000 apiece.

The World Snooker Main Tour players who have confirmed their participation are: Mark Selby, Peter Ebdon, Ken Doherty, Joe Swail, Stuart Bingham, Nigel Bond, Steven Lee, Dave Harold, Michael Holt, Ricky Walden, Jimmy Michie, Mike Dunn, Tom Ford, Mark Davis, Stuart Pettman, Martin Gould, Jimmy White and Matthew Selt.
