KARACHI, May 29: The brave judges, who have challenged the dictators and tyrants, are the first “real heroes” in the history of Pakistan, said Awami Tehreek chairman and central leader of the All Parties Democratic Movement Rasool Bux Palijo here on Thursday.

Speaking at a 'Meet the Press' programme of the Karachi Press Club, he said in the past there had been no 'real heroes', but the brave judges had filled this gap. He said Pakistan was passing through its most critical phase and in these dark days the movement of brave judges, lawyers, the media and civil society was the only ray of hope for the people. Mr Palijo said that nowhere in the world, including the west, judges had ever challenged the forces of dictatorship and tyranny in such a brave manner.

Mr Palijo said the restoration of the judges was the most pressing issue of our times. He said all other issues could be delayed. He said the restoration of judges would automatically help resolve other issues faced by the nation and the country.

He said Pakistan had never enjoyed the rule of law and constitution since its creation. The past and present rulers had got a “licence from their American bosses to kill their own people in the name of war on terror”.

He alleged that the rulers themselves were the biggest violators of law. He said the withdrawal of cases against corrupt and criminal politicians and killers of people was the biggest misuse of power and no civilized society could allow this crime.

Harshly criticizing the United States policies, Mr Palijo said the US now wanted to conquer the world.—PPI
