Committees formed for Asia Cup

LAHORE, May 30: Three committees have been formed to coordinate the various aspects of the forthcoming Asia Cup which is to be held in Pakistan from June 25 to July 6.

The ACC award committee would include the chief operating officers of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The technical committee will be headed by PCB Director Cricket Operations Zakir Khan with Iqbal Sikandar and Haridas as the other two members. Two separate qualification committees have also been formed for Lahore and Karachi. Subhan Ahmed and Rehan Butt are included in the Lahore chapter, while Karachi’s committee comprises Haridas and Saqib Irfan.

Zakir, who is also the event director, said that only two Asia Cup matches to be held at Lahore on June 25 and June 26 would start at 4.00pm, while all the other matches are to begin at 5.00pm.In order to examine the security measures, a full dress rehearsal would take place at Lahore on June 20.
