ISLAMABAD, May 31: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) announced on Saturday that prices of petroleum products would remain unchanged over the next fortnight.

The prices of petrol, HOBC, high-speed diesel and light diesel oil thus would remain unchanged for the period ending June 15.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani took the decision to avoid further increasing the oil prices to control the rising inflation. The price of crude oil in the international market recently jumped to $135 a barrel but retreated to $127 per barrel on Friday.

An Ogra notification said effective from June 1, the retail price of petrol would remain at Rs69.03 a litre and that of diesel at Rs50.28. The kerosene price will also remain unchanged at Rs49.02 per litre.
