SUKKUR, June 1: About 100,000 youths will receive technical training in 32 centres on scholarship under the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Youth Programme, says Sindh Labour Minister Ameer Nawab Khan.

He was speaking at a certificate and cheque distribution ceremony of Prime Minister’s Skill Development Programme organized by the directorate of manpower and training at Technical Training Centre here.

The youth in this era of competition should pay attention to technical education as there was a big demand for skilled persons, he said, adding that the government was keen on resolving the problem of unemployment for which a comprehensive strategy had been formulated.

He announced of the provision of a bus for Technical Training Centre.

Earlier, Technical Training Centre Principal Mohammad Hayat Larik welcoming participants said the government had reactivated technical training centres in the province.

Later talking to a delegation of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said the sole objective of his visit was to acquaint himself with the problems of industrialists and labour class and resolve them on priority.

He said rules and regulations concerning Workers Welfare Fund were being relaxed in the interest of workers.
