KARACHI, June 3: Berth occupancy was managed at 70 per cent on Tuesday where a total of seven ships, CV Maersk Georgia, CV Ital Glamour, MV Fair Partner, MV United Star, MT Maliau, MT Navajo Spirit and MV Venus, were occupied berths to load and offload containers, general cargo, coal, palm oil and iron ore, respectively.

A cargo volume of 53,848 tons, comprising 42,652 tons of import cargo and 11,196 tons of export cargo, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,671 containers (boxes), was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.

Four ships, CV Maersk Delmont, CV MSC Rosa-M, MV Wales-II and MV Atlantic Dream, were expected to take berths at the Container Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal, respectively, on Tuesday while two more ships, CV CMA CGM Nilgai and CV ACX Marguerite, are due to arrive at the Port Qasim on Wednesday.—APP
