ISLAMABAD, June 3: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi called his Danish counterpart Per Stig Moller and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and damage to property in a bomb blast near the Danish Embassy in Islamabad.

Mr Qureshi strongly condemned the attack and termed terrorism as a scourge threatening the whole human society.

He assured Mr Moller that people responsible for the attack would be brought to justice and said the regrettable incident would strengthen Pakistans resolve to fight extremism and terrorism.

The foreign minister informed his Danish counterpart that Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir visited the Danish Embassy immediately after the blast and met the charge d’affaires.

Mr Moller thanked the government of Pakistan for expressing solidarity with Denmark and the Danish mission in Islamabad.

He said that a Danish delegation planned to visit Islamabad to meet the Danish diplomats and condole over the death of Pakistani nationals in the attack.

Mr Qureshi assured him that the government would welcome the delegation and provide all possible assistance to it during its stay in Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Qureshi also called Danish charge d’affaires and expressed solidarity with the people in the mission.
