HYDERABAD, June 10: A resident of the Station Road, Mohammad Ilyas Khilji, has appealed to authorities to provide him protection and his life is in danger since he got possession of his shops through a court order from his tenant.
Addressing a news conference at the press club here on Tuesday, he said that his grandfather owned the shops at Hala Naka which were rented out to Mehboob, son of Sultan Ismail, but he became a permanent source of trouble for his family over the last 20 to 25 years.
He said that when his uncle, Niaz, asked the tenant to pay rent he refused and threatened him with dire consequences.
A court was moved in 2000 through a civil suit and matter was decreed in his favour on May 21, 2008, Mr Khilji said.
For getting possession of the shops police supported them under the court orders on May 29, 2008, he added.
He said the locks of the shops were broken open in presence of police and possession was restored to him adding that in the meantime the tenant also arrived there with some people and he hit his uncle with an iron rod and a case was lodged against them.
He said that police arrested Mehboob and his accomplice while others fled.
He said on May 23, a relative of Mehboob, Maqsood, son of Ismail, a resident of Naushahro Feroze, filed a false case of kidnapping before civil judge against his uncle, Ghulam Nabi, his cousins Yunus and Ghulam Murtaza.
He said that his uncle and cousins owned the shops of motor parts and a hotel at Hala Naka and on Monday Mohammad Maqsood, Afzal, Iqbal alias Papu and three to four other men arrived there and issued threats of dire consequences to them.
He said that his cousins and uncle closed their shops and left the area because of these peoples’ threats. He said they also claimed that the shops were owned by them.
He appealed to the authorities to come to their rescue and if they were harmed, the above mentioned people should be held responsible.
