THATTA, June 11: Acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Azizullah Memon, said on Wednesday that vacant positions of judges in the province would be filled soon.

He said in his address to Thatta District Bar Association that the problems being faced by lawyers would be addressed soon. Efforts were being made to provide easy access to justice, he said.

He said the judiciary was aware of the litigants’ problems and stressed the need for expeditious disposal of cases. He said that coordinated strategies would be adopted to provide maximum relief to people.

Earlier, the chief justice inspected the newly-constructed sessions court building.

Our Shikarpur correspondent adds: Justice Khalid Ali Z. Qazi on Wednesday warned that stern action will be taken if work on the construction of judicial complex, court lockup and residential bungalows of judges was not completed by July.

Mr Qazi who is on the development committee of Access to Justice Programme visited Shikarpur and inspected ongoing development work.

He was accompanied by Saghar Hussain Zaidi, project director of the programme.

Officials of the executive agencies informed the judge that 90 per cent work had been completed and the remaining work would be completed by July.
