CHITRAL, June 14: The residents of Sore Rech village remained stranded in their homes for the third consecutive day as the suspension bridge over Torkhow river was washed away by flood, sources told Dawn here on Saturday.

The remote village, about 160 kilometres off here in the north containing 336 households, is surrounded by steep mountains with a jeep-able suspension bridge, which is the only means of communication with the rest of Chitral district. The residents have to use the bridge to access school, hospital and bazaar.
