M.P. Bhandara passes away

ISLAMABAD, June 15: M.P. Bhandara, a former legislator belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) who represented the minorities in parliament, died at a hospital on Sunday.

Mr Bhandara was under treatment for the serious injuries he had received in a car accident in China on April 23. One of his legs had been broken in the accident.

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza, Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and Deputy Chairman Jan Mohammad Jamali paid tribute to the late lawmaker in separate condolence messages.

A one-minute silence was observed in the National Assembly to pay respects to Mr Bhandara. The MNAs praised him for his services.—Staff Reporter
