HYDERABAD, June 16: External Examinations of BA Part-I and MA Previous of the Sindh University, under new system, will commence from August 26 at 16 centres.

This was decided in a meeting of the Annual Examinations Restructuring Committee, presided over by the Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, on Monday.

The last date for submission of examinations forms has been fixed August 5, while a circular in this regard will be issued by concerned degree colleges on July 2.

Two examinations centres for girls and boys in Latifabad and the same number for both in Hyderabad city will be set up, while separate centres for boys and girls of different degree colleges will be established at district level.

Results of those failing to submit their assignments within specific time will be withheld till submission.

New examination forms for BA and MA Part-I and Part-II.

A seminar will be conducted before examinations to create awareness among students and their parents.

Controller of examinations spoke at length on relevant issues and future planning of holding the examination in August, 2008.

The Vice Chancellor said the new system of examination was not only aimed at awarding degrees but also to test the knowledge of students.

He said under the new system, candidates will benefit and gain knowledge and real education.

Under the new system, it will be compulsory for external candidates to get registration and submit assignments before appearing in examinations.

It is split into three parts - assignment, holding of oral/viva voce at the end of written examinations, 70 marks of the written examination spanning to two and half hours.
