Indian woman beaten up by robber

ISLAMABAD, June 20: The wife of a security officer at the Indian High Commission was manhandled by a robber near her house on Friday.

Vinod M.V. told the Kohsar police that his wife was beaten up by an unidentified man near his house at Street 41 of sector F- 7/1 when she was returning from a nearby clinic.

A man appeared on the street and tried to snatch her purse. When she put up resistance, the culprit manhandled her.

Some of the people from the surrounding areas rushed to her rescue and the accused fled.

The police registered a case under PPC 354 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty).
